The FCU1000 has multiple hardware interfaces including RS-232 serial, industry standard 24 VDC digital, ±10 VDC analog interfaces. These interfaces allow the FCU1000 to be remotely configured and operated by a host PLC, robot controller, or personal computer.

     The FCU1000 is designed to operate a PushCorp Active Compliant Force Device and interface with either a robot controller, remote host computer or PLC. The FCU1000 is configured, and can be monitored, through a RS-232 serial port. Once configured, the controller can be operated via analog or digital interfaces, or through the RS-232 serial port using simple ASCII commands. These commands can originate from any serial port equipped PC or robot controller.
     A Microsoft Windows™ compatible software, AFD Windows, is supplied free, and can be downloaded from the Software page. AFD Windows provides interactive control from any IBM PC compatible computer. This software has on-screen buttons, sliders and bar graphs providing an intuitive graphical interface to configure and control every function of the FCU1000 controller.
     In addition to the serial interface, the FCU1000 also provides ±10 VDC analog and 24 VDC digital I/O.

These standard industrial interfaces allow the FCU1000 to directly interface to most any PLC or robot controller. A common approach is to use AFD Windows to assist with initial configuration and then use the analog and/or digital interfaces for the control interface during processing.
     This combination of the FCU1000, AFD Windows software, and the digital interface is an ideal solution for users who intend to implement a totally integrated system with limited process development needs.
     The FCU1000 is packaged in a rugged, compact enclosure so that the unit may be mounted almost anywhere. Removable front panel electrical connectors make servicing the unit a snap.
