The PushCorp AFD1000 Series Active Compliance Force Devices coupled with the FCU1000 Controller utilizes an advanced closed-loop force control technology. Using this patented technology, the AFD1000 Series provides incredibly accurate performance. This superior performance is immediately realized through greatly increased production rates with consistent, high-quality results.

The AFD1000 Series is available in three configurations: AFD1000-1 Vertical, AFD1000-2 Horizontal, and the AFD1000-3 Table Top. The units are functionally identical, but differ in the orientation with which they attach to the robot wrist, or mount to a table. This allows you to optimize robot reach and dexterity for your particular application.

Here are just a few operations the AFD1000 Series, matched with the proper process equipment, can accomplish faster, more accurately, and with greater control than ever before:

Grinding (molds, weld beads)
Deburring (parting lines, chamfer)
Polishing (glass, wood, sheet metal)
Drilling/Chamfering (thru-hole, to-depth)
Weld Shaving (See SWS100-1.2)
Any other process which requires an accurate, compliant, continuously adjustable applied force.

The AFD1000 Series Compliant Force Device uses an active closed-loop control scheme where, the it works in concert with a remote FCU1000 Active Compliance Controller. This controller executes proprietary algorithms and continuously monitors the force applied to the work surface via a precision load cell. By immediately correcting any detected force variation, this advanced technology allows the AFD1000 Series to apply forces accurate to within ±0.1 lbs. (±0.4 N) over their entire operational force range.

Active compliant force control provides many useful features. The AFD1000 Series have the built-in ability to precisely weigh the process equipment and compensate for gravity induced forces in any orientation. This means that if you want to apply 8.2 lbs. (36.5 N) of force to a surface, then the AFD1000 will apply 8.2 lbs. (36.5 N) in any orientation; horizontal, vertical, even upside-down, without

any additional integration effort from you. In addition, force variations due to acceleration effects are automatically corrected allowing you to use much higher speeds over contoured surfaces and around corners.

Integrating the 1000 Series system into your workcell could not be any easier, since the system is completely stand-alone and is not robot dependent. The installation setup consists of mounting the FCU1000 Controller, attaching one small flexible air supply line, mounting the AFD1000, and connecting the supplied controller cable to the AFD. The simple Microsoft Windows™ software setup means that you can be up and running your process in a matter of minutes.

All these features combine to make the PushCorp AFD1000 Series the most advanced, dependable, and cost effective force control system available today.
